This is a joint tour of HCCA and VMCCA.
The tour spans 4 days but it starts at 1:30 pm July 28 in Sister Bay and ends at noon July 31, so 3 or 4 days depending on your point of view. The reason for the unusual start and end times is to give most of the participants travel time without the need for an extra motel stay.
I suggest that you arrive early enough on the opening day to have lunch at Al Johnson's Swedish Restaurant & Butik in Sister Bay. There will not be another good time to do so. They are famous for Swedish menu items and for the goats on the roof. The goats will be on the roof after 9am but not if the weather forecast is in the high 90's.
On Wednesday we will take the ferry to Washington Island. You will line up with the general public and pay for your own passage. This is the way the Ferry Line wants it to be.
We will participate in a traditional Door County Fish Boil. This is a thrilling experience to watch. The fish couldn't be fresher, its caught the same morning. There are alternate menu items if you are not into fish.
